What people say
Bob and I had a great stay at your lodge last weekend. It truly is a hidden gem in Dubois — I was so impressed with your place that I truly think you just need to get the word out and people will come. We liked the fact that there was plenty of parking, rooms were beautiful and clean, Dubois was 2 minutes away, continental breakfast and of course, the most friendly staff in the State!"
My husband and I [...] had a blast!!! The locals in town were great at giving us directions on fun things to see and do. The cabin we stayed in was great too!! Thanks for a very wonderful, special and memorable trip to your neck of the woods. It was a great adventure for the two of us to be able to reconnect after the hubby's deployment. Thanks!!"
I wanted to Thank You for a nice stay. Your place is beautiful and very comfortable. I set my alarm clock for 6:30 Tuesday morning. I didn’t need it because I woke up to the honking of some geese coming in for a landing. It was so cool. Hope all goes well. If I hear of anyone going up your way I will surely pass your card out to them."

The grounds are beautiful. Room is awesome. Cows are cute. Tile floors are the Best. Love it! Will be back!"
Very pleased. GOOD: Great price. Young ownership with great ideas. Clean and new. Good laundry facilities. Great internet in room. Door mats might bring dirt in.
Room clean; looked brand new. Nice decorations, good coffee, tasty breakfast, good hospitality. If there was a higher rating, we would check it!"
Away from road and city noise and lights. Quiet and comfortable. Wonderfully clean. We will stay here again. We are comfortable here, and lovely surroundings."
Very nice décor! Passed on several motels in town because of their high rates — you were wonderful, friendly and hospitable!"

Letter from a happy customer
As a retired middle-school principal, I have traveled extensively in North America and abroad. The wisest travel decision I have ever made was three years ago when I began to spend three months every summer at the Longhorn Ranch Motel and RV Resort.
This 35 acres of pristine paradise is located just 3 miles east of Dubois, Wyoming on the winding Wind River. For me, the Longhorn is the premier western travel destination because it is located just on the outskirts (70 miles east) of all the commercialism and overcrowded conditions of Jackson Hole and Yellowstone Park. It is the perfect “base camp,” because I can enjoy the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone and return to the tranquility of the Longhorn and Dubois.
The Longhorn is also more cost efficient because of much lower monthly and weekly rates. Rooms and RV sites are much more expensive and much more crowded in the Jackson Hole/Yellowstone area.
The term “motel” is understated, because all of the rooms are new-construction connecting log cabins that are well-appointed and furnished. Many of the residents who have visitors send them to the Longhorn instead of local motels located in Dubois because the prices are more competitive and the rooms are much nicer.
I am an outdoors person, and that is the primary reason I have chosen the Dubois area and the Longhorn. I love wildlife and I savor the rugged beauty of the west. I have three bird feeders and have documented over 50 different species of birds. It is also not uncommon to have mule deer, Canadian geese, eagles, and ospreys visit the RV sites.
The fishing in this area is exceptional. Anywhere in the nation, a 20-inch trout is a true trophy. I catch rainbows, browns, and cutthroats in the 18-20 inch range on almost a daily basis. The Wind River, which runs through the Longhorn, holds such lunkers, and I have been fortunate to have caught and released my share within a stone’s throw of my RV.
There are many great day trips such as Sinks Canyon in Lander and the Wind River Canyon just outside of Riverton. There is fossil hunting in the nearby hillsides, and many trails for hiking and backpacking.
I have been all over the world and the nation, and I consider Dubois and the Longhorn to be my personal paradise. The beauty and peacefulness of this area invigorates me and puts me back in touch with the true essence of life itself.
